En Will, un home que es troba en la trentena, comença a formar part d’un grup de pares solters per conèixer alguna mare amb la que pugui sortir. Però per poder entrar necessita ser solter i tenir fills. Solter ja ho és, però fill no en té, així que decideix inventar-se una vida amb un nen petit que li porta mal de caps. En aquesta associació és on coneixerà en Marcus, un nen preadolescent poc corrent que té una mare hippie i depresiva. Will i Marcus encetaran una amistat força peculiar on un li ensenyarà a ser una mica més nen i l’altre a ser una mica més home.

Aquest ha estat el tercer llibre que llegeixo de Nick Hornby i haig de dir que, com en els altres dos, m’agrada molt com utilitza l’humor per fer reflexionar al lector sobre emocions i accions cotidianes.

Del llibre About a boy se’n va fer una pel·lícula amb Hugh Grant, jo no l’he vist però, si es fidel al llibre, pot estar molt bé.
